Medical Student Leave Regulations: Being a doctor is very important. One has to study hard before becoming a doctor. For this, medical students work hard on theory as well as practical in college.
For PG students, it becomes even more difficult, but the National Medical Commissioner has made a new rule related to work and holidays for them. This rule will especially benefit PG students. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to give more holidays to PG medical students. Let’s look at the new rules.
According to the new rules of NMC, now PG students will also get 20 CL i.e. Casual leave in a year with weekly off. They will also be given a five-day holiday. The UGC has sent a notification to all medical colleges and universities in this regard. New rules need to be enforced strictly.
According to the report, it has also been decided in the NMC meeting that now the medical students will have to spend three months in the district hospital during their course. Counselling for admission to PG courses will now be conducted in online mode by government agencies.
According to the new rules of NMC, medical students will now have to work as full-time resident doctors. Students will also be given adequate time to rest during the day. According to Dr Vijay Oza, chairman of the Post-Graduate Medical Education Board of NMC, the new decisions will reduce the stress of medical students. They will get time to relax, which will allow them to work with new energy the next day.
