India is an agricultural country. Most of the people here depend on agriculture. The Government of India also helps farmers in various ways to encourage them. The most important factor for agriculture is irrigation.
If irrigation is not done properly, it can have a bad effect on the crop. You must have seen that farmers mostly irrigate with pumps. for which electricity is used. Electricity for irrigation is a common problem in remote areas of India.
Water supply was disrupted due to power failure. But other resources are also being made available to provide electricity to the farmers. One of them is the solar pump. The Government of India is giving a lot of incentives to farmers to buy solar pumps.
The government also gives subsidy on solar pumps. So let know how much subsidy the government gives to the farmers and how much money has to be spent to buy it.
The government of India is implementing various schemes for the welfare of the people. One of these schemes is Pradhan Mantri Krishi Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Maha Abhiyan. Farmers are benefiting greatly from this scheme. They are also given subsidy on solar pumps.
30% subsidy on solar pumps is being given by the Government of India while the rest is the responsibility of the state government. Different states have different rules. To take advantage of this scheme, farmers have to first apply online.
For solar pumps, up to 75% subsidy is being given to the farmers by the state governments. For example, if a person is installing a 5HP solar pump whose market price is Rs 4,53,299, then the farmers will get it for only Rs 1,14,075. This will save them Rs 3,39,224.
