Every year new highways and national highways are being built in India, due to which the length of the roads is being increased. Under the leadership of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, many national highways have been constructed in the country. After that, the distance between the two cities has been halved and you can go to any city in a short time.
But the government is spending crores of rupees for this. After spending a lot, the government also incurs debt, which it recovers from the public. To collect it, toll taxes are made by the government.
Everyone, be it a common man or a big businessman, has to pay toll tax at the toll plaza. This generates revenue for the government, which it uses to develop roads in the country.
You must have seen toll plazas or toll booths on every expressway. You have to pay toll to get through. Which is nowadays cut off from the FASTag installed on your vehicles. Now you have to wait less at the toll plaza.
Apart from this, many rules are made by the government while building toll plazas. You should be aware of these rules. Many times people have to suffer due to lack of knowledge of these rules. These rules made by the government are for the general public and also for the employees and owners who run the toll booths.
There is also a rule about the distance of the toll booth, which means that the distance between two toll booths is determined in advance. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has made it clear that no other toll can be made within 60 km of crossing a plaza. This system is applicable on all national highways and expressways in the country. States are governed by their own laws.
