Railway Station: Every facility of its passengers is taken care of by the railways and in such a situation, if you have reached the station a little before the arrival of the train and if the train is very late, then you can take advantage of one of the facilities of the railways. If you have to wait for the railway station and save yourself from the cold, then the retiring room facility is provided by the railways at the station.
This service is provided by IRCTC. Retiring room is not an ordinary room, but a very good facility is provided to the passenger in these rooms. The advantage of the retiring room is that you do not need to stay in the hotel for a few hours.
In such a situation, if you find a hotel near the railway station, then it will be very expensive or you will not get good facilities in it at a low price. But in the retiring room being given by the railways, you will get good facilities, cleanliness and other facilities.
There are two types of retiring rooms – AC and non-AC. Their fare is not much but ranges from ₹100 to ₹700. The rent of the room depends on whether you are taking a room with AC or without AC. Besides, the fare varies from station to station.
You can stay in the retiring room from a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 48 hours. But you get the option of booking on an hourly basis only at some stations. Bookings can be done on the IRCTC website.
